EARLY LIFE:
Jacques Cousteau was born in June 11, 1910 in Saint-Andre-de-Cubzac, France to parents Daniel and Elisabeth Cousteau. He had one sibling, a brother, by the name of Pierre-Antoine. There isn't much information of what he did in his early life until he went to college. Cousteau went and graduated at the esteemed College Stanislas. In the year of 1930, he entered Ecole Navy, then graduated as a gunnery officer. Unfortunately an accident cut his navy life short and he took an interest into the seas.
Jacques Cousteau carried out his first underwater experiments in Toulon. His friend, Phillipe Taillez, supplied him with his first pair of goggles, so he was able to explore the sea.
On the 12th of July, 1937 he married his first wife, Simone Melchior. They bore two sons, Jean-Michel, and Phillipe. In the year of 1990, Simone died of cancer. A year later, he married another woman, Francine Triplet. She already had a daughter and son. Diane and Pierre-Yves. Born during Cousteau's first marriage.
